In 2016, UKEOF commissioned the University of Reading, in partnership with the Stockholm Environment Institute at the University of York, and the University of West England to undertake a study to investigate people's motivations for citizen science. The summary leaflet (but not the main report) was subsequently translated into German by Melanie Armbruster.
