The National Environment Monitoring Conference returns for its third year exploring 'Building Momentum - Strengthening the UK’s Environmental Monitoring Community'.

Building on the foundations laid by NEMC 2024 and the collective momentum generated in 2025, NEMC 2026 will focus on turning a shared vision for UK environmental monitoring into sustained, coordinated action. Across the past two conferences, the community has highlighted both the richness of monitoring activity across the UK and persistent challenges in discovering, accessing, integrating and applying evidence to inform policy, practice and research. NEMC 2026 responds by shifting the emphasis towards practical delivery, long‑term alignment and demonstrable impact.

Taking place alongside the British Ecological Society (BES) Annual Meeting, NEMC 2026 offers a valuable opportunity to strengthen the UK environmental monitoring community, accelerate collaboration, and support delivery of a more coherent and resilient environmental evidence system for people and nature. This event is a collaboration between UKCEH, UKEOF and the BES.
